<image:caption>Sydney (she/her) is a Clinical Therapist at Third Eye Counseling. She holds a master's degree in Counseling from Prescott College with a concentration in Somatic Counseling. Sydney recognizes that starting therapy is a courageous step and seeks to partner with clients where they are in their journey. She embraces a warm, compassionate, and authentic approach to help clients feel comfortable and confident to explore their experiences and make thoughtful changes in their lives. She also welcomes "change" as a non-linear process, guiding clients to lean into their inner wisdom and strength to find their ideal balance between embracing acceptance and pursuing growth - moment by moment. In a world that often asks people to do and be more, Sydney invites her clients to slow down and explore what it means to move at their own speed. Sydney has experience working with adults undergoing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, and personal development. She focuses on a holistic approach to healing, using curiosity and context to help clients explore and embrace their experiences. Sydney draws on multiple counseling approaches, such as person-centered, relational-cultural, strengths-based, and attachment approaches. She works collaboratively with clients to individualize the process to center their goals, values, and needs. Sydney is also passionate about integrating somatic principles to help clients connect with their whole selves. Sydney is able to provide services in Illinois, Florida, and Massachusetts. <image:caption>I am a graduate-level counseling intern in my final year at Adler University. Adler's focus on social systems and oppression and how they interact with wellness is central to my practice. I work primarily with adults who are navigating challenges in feeling fulfilled and empowered in their lives. As a biracial therapist who is the child of immigrants, identity and values work has played a large role in my own growth, and I especially enjoy exploring these with my clients. Areas of specialization include grief work, trauma processing, and working with anxiety and depression. I work to be a safe, warm, and non-judgmental place for clients to show up exactly as they are. As a career changer coming to therapeutic work later in life, I hope to use my backgrounds in dance and improvisational comedy to incorporate mindfulness, somatic work, play, and humor into the therapeutic space wherever helpful. I primarily practice using Internal Family Systems and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy with a focus on the client's needs and goals to make decisions about what modalities are the most helpful in context. Sophia is available to provide services in Illinois, Florida, and Massachusetts. Email to schedule or Make an Appointment with Sophia</image:caption>
