Angelica Marrufo, LCPC

Life can be difficult and frustrating but Angelica (she/her/hers) is adamant that finding a safe and affirming space in therapy shouldn’t be. Because of this, Angelica strives to celebrate individuals’ identities and help them cultivate hope and meaning in their life through therapy.  She uses a collaborative and strengths-based approach to empower clients facing adversities and want to overcome challenges toward a life they desire.  She particularly enjoys providing a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their feelings and honor their truth to welcome growth.

When working with Angelica, clients can expect to be met with compassion, empowerment, and humor. Her past experience includes working with clients experiencing anger, anxiety, inter-partner violence, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. She embraces and values diversity in clients and demonstrates this through a trauma-informed, intersectional, and systems-based lens. At her core, she is passionate about assisting all communities and has a vast experience working with BIPOC folx and the LGBTQIA+ community in particular.

Angelica, therapist contracted with Third Eye Counseling, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who brings 5+ years experience working in clinical, community-based setting as well as teaching at Roosevelt University. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindful approaches with clients, individualizing her approach based on the client’s story and goals.
